The paper - written from a very personal perspective - describes, from the psychoanalytic point of view, the importance of a the baby's earliest relalations (immediately preceding and following just before the birth and just after it) with its mother, the importance for a the child's future development. The author bases her approach on the ideas of three researchers and practictioners - Frans Veldman, Esther Bick and Francoise Dolto - are described. The author paper presents some several examples of therapeutic interventions which have good influence on a the mother and her child.
