ABSTRACT
Supervision of psychotherapy should be only one of the different aspects of psychotherapist's formation as well as the practice of an experienced psychotherapist. Its confrontational function seems to be a very important one, not only in a process of education but also in the everyday practice of qualified psychotherapists. Supervision of beginners is connected, however, with responsibility in viewing the treatment effects. At the same time, the responsibility in question is hard to hold owing the fact that the supervisor has no direct contact with the patients or clients. Along with other convictions concerning supervision mentioned in this paper, e.g. modelling proper therapeutic relationship, some of our expectations from supervision seem to be unrealistic.
