ABSTRACT
The author when analyzing the individuation process of a supervisor presents his negative examples based on mythological persons struggling with the responsibility smiliar to that laying on contemporary supervisors. The author points out the important role of the identification with an external model in the process of looking for supervisor's own way of playing a new role. Individuation will mean getting rid of these borrowings; taking off the layers. This is described in the context of Fordham, Freud, Bion and Kolb.
