ABSTRACT
The article discusses issues related to the adoption of a new patient to a pre-existing therapeutic group. Before the new member begins to realize the aims of the group, he or she must be accepted and assimilated by this group. For the group, the new person can be very valuable, but also may inhibit or impede the therapeutic work. Reflection on the factors facilitating and hindering the work of the therapeutic group and the feelings of its members at the time of adoption of the new patient is illustrated with simple research.
