ARTICLE
ABSTRACT
The article is an attempt to interpret the category of the Other within the framework of the Lacanian thought. The Other, is a speech emergence spot, which at the same time asserts the speech. Although it is an external, implicit part of an expression it is its fundamental prerequisite. The law of the Other is an area of the accumulated enjoyment (jouissance), that is dangerous and unacceptable for the subject. The confrontation with one's own jouissance is always painful and has its impact on the configuration of a symptom, perversion or rationalization. Apart from this, the article discusses three different formations of the Other constructed upon three registers of the subjectivity (Imaginary, Symbolical and Real).
