CHILD AND ADOLESCENT DEPRESSION: THEORY, COGNITIVE-BEHAVIOURAL PSYCHOTHERAPY

ABSTRACT
The article presents the current knowledge of epidemiology, clinical picture, the course and effects of child and adolescent depression. The author reviews concepts explaining the cognitive and behavioural mechanisms of depression and their clinical implications. She presents the basic assumptions, principles and methods of cognitive-behavioural child and adolescent therapy. She discusses limitations of this therapeutic method and evaluation of its efficiency.

Submission of electronic versions of the journal to the National Digital Library Polona and the Digital Library of Scientific Publications Academica.
